  • Overseeing and agreeing contracts and providers for services including security, parking, cleaning, catering, technology;
  • Oerseeing building projects, renovations or refurbishments;
  • Advising businesses on increasing energy efficiency and cost-effectiveness;
  • Develop and implement a facility management program including preventative maintenance and life-cycle requirements;
  • Direct, coordinate and plan essential services such as reception, security, maintenance, mail, archiving, cleaning, catering, waste disposal and recycling;
  • Ensuring a constant security presence;
  • Installing and maintaining adequate communications infrastructure;
  • Managing budgets, monitor expenses and ensuring cost-effectiveness;
  • Ensuring that facilities meet government regulations and environmental, health and security standards;
  • Plan for future development in line with strategic business objectives;
  • Manage and lead change to ensure minimum disruption to core activities;
  • Conduct and document regular facilities inspections;
  • Allocate and manage facility space for maximum efficiency;
  • Manage and review service contracts to ensure facility management needs are being met;
  • Ensure delivery schedules, quantity and quality criteria are met;
  • Ensure efficient utilization of facility maintenance staff;
  • Performance manage, develop and train staff;
  • Generate and present regular reports and reviews of facility-related budgets, finances, contracts, expenditures and purchases;
  • Develop and implement cost reduction initiatives;


Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline;
  • Around 5 years’ experience in facilities management position;
  • Able to understand complex electrical, mechanical and automation systems;
  • Demonstrated leadership skills;
  • Project management skills;
  • Working knowledge of procurement and contracts;
  • Knowledge of health, safety and environmental regulations;
  • Experience in construction, maintenance and all facets of facility operation;
  • Analytical, problem-solving skills, decision-making;
  • The ability to lead and manage teams and projects;
  • Attention to detail but also the ability to see the implications for the bigger picture;
  • Organisation, time management, prioritising and the ability to handle a complex, varied workload.
